Senior Extension Associate
Responsible for extension, implementation and applied research programming in Grape IPM for New York State and the Lake Erie Region of Pennsylvania. Applied research and implementation projects focus on the integration and transfer of research-based pest management techniques from grape faculty research projects into grower vineyards. Due to the large geographical responsibility of the position and the large number of part-time growers a major objective of the Grape IPM program is to expand the conventional information transfer methods of extension, such as the newsletter, meetings, telephone conversations and face-to-face meetings, to include distance learning tools such as web sites, electronic newsletters, e-mail and web-based publications and diagnostic tools.
